Dr. Juliet LaMonaca grew up in Billings and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Montana State University Billings. She attended the Pacific University School of Professional Psychology where she earned her master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology.
Dr. LaMonaca has a special interest in working with clients with substance use disorders (SUD). She facilitated Self-Management And Recovery Training (SMART) groups, provided SUD assessments, and received extensive supervision in SUD treatment throughout her graduate training. She completed her residency at HealthWorks NW, an innovative group practice in Portland, OR specializing in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). Dr. LaMonaca provided individual therapy, conducted assessments, and ran Intensive Outpatient treatment groups. She specialized in working with health care professionals enrolled in the Oregon Health Professionals Service Program (HPSP). After residency, she worked as a Senior Clinician at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Oregon.
Dr. LaMonaca also enjoys working with young people in transition to adulthood and college students. She completed her internship at the University of Idaho Counseling & Testing Center. During internship, she completed rotations in psychiatry and substance use disorder treatment. She also developed skills in providing outreach, crisis assessment, supervision, and biofeedback. Her thesis and dissertation examined issues of confidentiality in working with adolescents and college students.
Dr. LaMonaca is currently licensed as a psychologist in Montana and Oregon. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Montana Psychological Association, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).
